Hosting a DUCKSIDE server
DUCKSIDE is a persistent-world survival shooter from tinyBuild Riga, published by tinyBuild, in which you play as armed ducks who gather, craft, build bases, fly and raid each other. It has been in Steam Early Access since September 2024, and Early Access versions for PS5 and Xbox Series followed in September 2025.
Alongside the official PvP and PvE servers, DUCKSIDE has community servers you rent and run yourself. They let you decide how your island behaves: wipe schedule, open PvP or a calmer ruleset, gather rates, decay, raid windows and slot count. tinyBuild lists official community server partners for both PC and console, and the two are separate products, because crossplay only works between PS5 and Xbox, not with PC.
What to compare
- The right platform. A PC server cannot host console players, and a console server cannot host PC players.
- Wipe control. Choose a host that lets you set and automate the wipe schedule.
- Rates and raid rules. Gather rates, decay and raid windows shape the whole server. Check you can change them yourself.
- Admin tools. You need the admin panel and admin commands to ban players, manage the server and run events.
- Backups. Bases take hours to build. Automatic backups let you roll back after a crash or exploit.
- Updates. DUCKSIDE is still in Early Access and updates can change how servers work, so a host that updates quickly avoids version mismatches.
- DDoS protection and location. Public PvP servers attract attacks, and gunfights and flying both suffer with high ping.

DUCKSIDE server hosting FAQ
How many players can join a DUCKSIDE server?
The console store listings give up to 50 online players. On a community server the slot count is set by the owner within the limits of the plan, so check how many slots each host allows.
Can PC and console players share a DUCKSIDE server?
No. Crossplay works only between PS5 and Xbox Series, so PC servers and console servers are separate.
Can I set my own wipe schedule?
Yes. Community servers let the owner choose the wipe schedule along with gather rates, decay and raid windows.
How do I open the admin panel on a console server?
While on your server, press LT + RT + A + X on Xbox, or L2 + R2 + Cross + Square on PS5, in sequence.
Can I host a DUCKSIDE server for free?
Not through any route tinyBuild documents. Its support pages point server owners to its official community server partners, so renting is the supported way to run one.
