Hosting a No One Survived server
No One Survived is a multiplayer survival sandbox from Cat Play Studio, set after a zombie apocalypse. Players scavenge, craft from over 400 items, trade with NPCs and build shelters with structural physics, through seasons that change what is available. It entered Early Access in January 2023 and reached its full release in December 2025.
Cat Play Studio provides a free dedicated server for Windows through SteamCMD. Settings are kept in the server's Game.ini, split into server settings (name, password, player limit) and game settings such as zombie behaviour, the length of the in-game year and PvP. A rented server keeps your shelter and stockpiles in place between sessions without one player hosting.
What to compare
- Game.ini access. Most of what shapes a No One Survived world is in this file. Check you can edit it directly or through a panel that shows every option.
- Sizing for your group. Small co-op groups need modest resources. Compare RAM and CPU against your real player count before paying for a large plan.
- Backups and restores. Shelters built with physics-based structures take time to rebuild. Automatic backups and easy restores protect a long-running world.
- Updates. The server has to match the client version. A host that updates promptly keeps players from being locked out after a patch.
- Windows hosting. The dedicated server is built for Windows. Check the provider lists No One Survived specifically rather than a generic plan.
- Location. Fights with zombies feel better on a nearby datacentre, so pick one close to most of your players.

No One Survived server hosting FAQ
How many players can a No One Survived server hold?
The player limit is set in the server's Game.ini rather than fixed by the game. More players need more resources, so size the plan for your busiest session.
Can I host a No One Survived server for free?
Yes. The dedicated server is a free download through SteamCMD for Windows. The world is only online while your machine runs it, which is why groups who play at different times usually rent one.
Is No One Survived still in Early Access?
No. It left Early Access with its full release in December 2025.
Can I turn PvP on or off?
PvP is one of the game settings in the server's Game.ini, so the owner decides whether players can fight each other.
Which version do rented servers run?
The PC version on Steam. The dedicated server is built for it, so check your whole group plays on PC.
