The Best Satisfactory Server Hosting

Why Satisfactory servers grow with your factory

In most survival games, server load follows the number of players. In Satisfactory it follows how much you have built. Every belt, machine and pipe your factory runs adds to memory and CPU use, so a server that is fine in the early game can struggle in a late-game megafactory. Coffee Stain designs the game around groups of up to four players, and while you can configure more, larger groups are not guaranteed to run well.

What to compare

• RAM for your stage. Community sizing runs from around 4 GB in the early game to 8 to 12 GB in the late game and 12 to 16 GB for very large factories, with 16 GB or more the official advice for large saves or bigger groups.
• Single-core speed. The server uses several cores but leans heavily on strong single-thread performance, so a fast CPU helps more than a long spec list.
• Upgrade path. Pick a host that lets you move to a bigger plan without rebuilding your save.
• Save management. You will want to upload an existing save, download backups and keep several restore points before big changes.
• Mod support. If you use mods, check that the host supports the mod tools you plan to use and lets you control the game version.
• Location. A nearby datacentre keeps building and vehicles feeling responsive.

Satisfactory server hosting FAQ

How much RAM does a Satisfactory server need?

It depends on how far your factory has grown. Early game saves can run on a few gigabytes, while late-game saves often need 12 GB or more.

Can I move my existing save to a dedicated server?

Yes, most hosts let you upload a save file, though you should check the steps for your provider first.

How many players can join?

The game is built around up to four players. You can raise the limit, but performance with larger groups is not guaranteed.

Is the Satisfactory dedicated server free?

Yes. The Satisfactory Dedicated Server is a free download on Steam and the Epic Games Store, for Windows and Linux. Running it on your own PC costs nothing but needs the RAM above and has to stay on for your friends to keep building. Renting moves that onto a host's hardware.
