TOPSERVER.NETWORK
The busiest public Valheim servers, ranked by the players we see on them. Each one shows whether it needs a password and which game version it runs, because Valheim only lets you join a server on your own version.
FINDClaimed communities plus 300 unclaimed servers listed from Steam's public server list, counted by unique map endpoint. Players come from Steam's server list or our own status checks, and only counts from the last 15 minutes are shown. 291 of 300 endpoints have a fresh player count. Missing counts are unknown, not zero. Snapshot: 2026-10-04T15:17:15+00:00. Counts describe server sessions, not unique people.

We read Steam's public Valheim server list every few hours and keep the busiest servers: up to 300 that have had three or more players in at least half of our checks over the last week. Servers still using a default name are left out, and a server drops off after 14 days without players.
Valheim makes every public dedicated server set a password of five or more characters, so a password does not mean a server is private. Communities usually share it on their Discord. Servers we have confirmed need no password are marked Open, and you can show only those.
Owners claim a server by putting a short code in its name for a few minutes. Once we see it, they can add a description, rules, how to get the password and a Discord link, and show above unclaimed servers.
Valheim only lets you join a server running the same game version as you. Each listing shows the version its server reports.
Most public servers need a password, and communities share it on their Discord. Use the Open filter to join one straight away.
The player charts show whether a server is busy when you play, not just right now.
Most Valheim servers are co-op. Claimed communities say whether players can fight each other.
Communities change combat, resources and raids with world modifiers. Claimed listings describe theirs.
It is where you get the password, the rules and a feel for the community before you sail.
By the players we observe on each server. Claimed communities appear first, then unclaimed servers, busiest first. Sponsored Server placements are labelled and never change this order.
Valheim requires every public dedicated server to set a password of at least five characters, so nearly all of them have one. It does not mean the server is private: communities usually share the password on their Discord.
From Steam's public Valheim server list and the server's own public query. A count older than 15 minutes is not shown: a missing count means unknown, not zero. We never collect player names.
In Valheim, choose Join Game, open the Community tab and search for the server name, or use Join IP with the address on the server page. Enter the password when asked, and make sure your game version matches the server.
If it is listed, open it and click "Claim this server", then put the short code we give you in your server name (-name in your start script) for a few minutes. As soon as we see it, the server is yours. If it is not listed, use "List Your Valheim Server" with its IP address and port. Listings are free.
