Hosting a Art of the Rail server

Art of the Rail is a transport tycoon game from RocketWerkz, the studio behind Stationeers. Players build road and rail networks, run vehicle routes and grow the economy of their world, alone or with others. Its Steam page lists it as coming soon to Early Access.

The game is built for multiplayer: it can run as a hosted game or as a dedicated server, with co-op or competitive play for up to 16 other players. A rented server keeps a shared map running while players come and go.

What to compare

  • Updates during Early Access. The server must match the game version, so look for a host that updates quickly.
  • CPU for big networks. Large maps with many vehicles need processor power, so compare CPU details.
  • Save backups. Automatic backups protect the networks you build.
  • Location. Pick a datacentre close to your group.
