Hosting a Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead server
Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead is a standalone military simulator from Bohemia Interactive, released in 2010. Set in the fictional Takistan, it models real ballistics, thermal imaging, material penetration, weather and a day and night cycle, with a mission editor and multiplayer modes.
Operation Arrowhead also integrates with the original Arma 2, and its mod scene is the reason many groups still run servers today.
What to compare
- Mod uploads. Most Arma 2 servers run mods and custom missions. Check for FTP or a file manager and enough disk space.
- CPU speed. Arma servers depend heavily on single-core performance, especially with AI. Compare CPU before memory.
- Config control. Look for direct access to the server config and mission rotation.
- Location. Choose a datacentre near your group for stable hit registration.
