Hosting a Beyond The Wire server
Beyond The Wire is a large-scale First World War shooter from Redstone Interactive, published by Offworld and fully released in August 2022. Battles hold up to 100 players, split into two 50-player teams made up of nine-person squads and a commander, fighting through trenches and open ground on the Western Front.
Melee matters as much as rifles here, with bayonets, clubs and other close-quarters weapons. Squad communication drives every round, so a stable server with low ping is the main thing your community will notice.
What to compare
- Capacity for 100 players. Full servers are demanding, so compare CPU speed and check the plan really supports the full player count.
- Config and admin access. Look for direct access to server config files and admin lists so you can set your own rules and map rotation.
- Restarts and updates. Check the host updates the server promptly after patches so players are not locked out.
- Location. Pick a datacentre close to most of your players to keep ping low.
