Hosting a Chivalry: Medieval Warfare server
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is a first-person medieval slasher from Torn Banner Studios, released in 2012. Players fight with swords, shields, maces, axes and longbows, besiege castles with catapults and battering rams, and raid villages in online battles of up to 32 players.
Torn Banner shut down the official servers on 8 April 2024. The game still works on unofficial servers run by the community, so a rented server is now the main way to keep a group playing. It also supports the Steam Workshop and includes a level editor.
What to compare
- Slot count. Matches run up to 32 players. Compare price per slot against the size of battles you want to run.
- Workshop and custom maps. Check the host lets you add Workshop content and upload your own maps.
- Admin control. With no official servers left, your server is your community. Look for easy access to map rotation, game modes and admin settings.
- Location. Melee timing depends on low ping. Pick a datacentre near most of your players.
