Hosting a IOSoccer server

IOSoccer is a free, non-commercial online football game from the IOSoccer Team, played in third person with detailed ball control. It began as a Half-Life mod, moved to the Source engine, and was rebuilt for its Steam release in June 2026.

Teams can be anything from 1 to 11 players a side, with 8v8 as the standard. Goalkeepers can be AI or human. The developers run official servers and say you can also rent your own from a host.

What to compare

  • Slots for your format. An 8v8 match needs 16 players plus spectators. Size the plan to the team format you play.
  • Low ping. Ball control depends on responsive movement, so choose a datacentre close to both teams.
  • Match settings. Check you can change team size, keeper settings and match rules.
  • Uptime for leagues. League and scheduled matches need a server that stays up, so check uptime and support hours.
