What a StarRupture server needs
StarRupture is a co-op factory survival game, and it officially supports up to 4 players. Running more than four is not officially supported and can cause instability. As with other factory games, what you build matters as much as who is playing: long conveyor networks and many active machines put steady load on the server as the game goes on.
What to compare
- RAM for a growing factory. Community guidance suggests at least 8 GB as a minimum, around 10 GB as a comfortable amount for two to four players, and 15 to 20 GB for complex late-game factories.
- CPU. A modern processor with good per-core speed helps the simulation keep pace as your automation grows.
- SSD storage. Fast storage helps with loading and saves, and leaves room for backups.
- Save management. You will want to download backups, keep more than one restore point and upload an existing save if you move from hosting it yourself.
- Settings access. Look for a panel or file access that lets you change server settings and passwords yourself.
- Updates. StarRupture is still developing, so choose a host that keeps the server in step with game updates quickly.
